Covid-19: Message from Headteacher

As you can imagine, we’ve been working through the night to try and understand what last night’s announcement regarding school closure actually means. Schools are closed but not closed… At the moment, this is all we know.

We hope that this morning brings the clarification we, and you, so desperately need. We are seeking answers to a huge number of questions; we would guess our questions are the same as yours.

We will be working hard, together with the other schools in the Magna Learning Partnership and with schools across the county to fully understand and then communicate with you what the plan is for schools.

Please bear with us and trust that we will communicate with you as soon as we have a plan in place. We ask at this time that you do not contact the school to as questions as we don’t yet have firm answers. We will write to you later in the day outlining everything we know.

I know this is frustrating and stressful, but please give us the time we need to gain the answers we all so desperately need. I promise that I will be in touch at some point this afternoon or this evening and all communications will be honest and transparent.

Our priority this morning will be our Year 11 students who will no doubt be struggling to comprehend the enormity of what has happened regarding their exams and, possibly the end of their secondary education.

Until later.

Nicola Bull, Headteacher.
