Sponsored Walk 14th September

Our annual sponsored walk was held on Friday 14th September.  It was a fantastic day! Sponsored Walk 14th September

We will be joining with St Edmund’s Girls for their annual sponsored walk which will be held on Friday 14th September and is for all students and staff at the Wyvern St Edmund’s Learning Campus.  It’s a great day! Parents are asked to give their permission this term, using the ParentPay system. Open Morning

Following a very successful Open Morning on Wednesday 28th February, our Year 7 tour guides under Mrs Bellamy’s leadership excelled themselves! They showed our school at its best and spoke with confidence and pride about their school. Our prospective parents were most impressed and complimentary saying that they were ‘great ambassadors’ for Wyvern. PE Department Update

Rugby, Mr Knight  Year 7 game vs BWS won 25-25  Triangular tournament vs Cathedral school was lost, and BWS was won  Year 8 and 9 played two games vs St Josephs and won both comfortably.  Year 7, 8 and 9 have all taken part in “Pitch Up and Play” an initiative run by England Rugby to get more players involved in the game. Trussell Trust – Christmas Hamper Donations

This year 7R led the way in collecting for the Trussell Trust Christmas box appeal. Students have been examining what it’s like to live in other places, locations, and time. They discovered that some people in the world are not as fortunate as themselves and decided to collect items for Christmas hampers to donate to the Trussell Trust. Catering

This term has seen the students from KS4 focus on coursework for their V. Cert portfolios. They have carried out research on a number of food groups and prepared dishes from these using individual recipes.

STEM

Year 8 took part in a bridge building challenge for the recent CAD. They had to design and make a structure to span a 400mm gap using nothing more than 100 lolly sticks and hot melt glue. The structure had to be self supporting and support a 3KG mass. In the case of a tie break the winner would be the one that used the least amount of materials.
