Mr. Paul German, Head Teacher

Canon Tom Clammer

Canon Tom Clammer is Precentor of Salisbury Cathedral where he organises the worship and music for some 1500 services which take place each year. Before taking up this role in 2012 he was a parish priest in rural Gloucestershire, and before that a suburban parish in Gloucester City. He is Governor of Salisbury Cathedral School as well as of Wyvern College, and is Chaplain to Salisbury Sea Cadet Unit. He lives in the Close with his wife, Emma, who teaches at a sixth form in Hampshire.

Kate Penn

Ms. Kate Penn

I have lived in Salisbury since I was 8 years old and I was educated here. Following my time away at University I decided to return to Salisbury and now work here as a solicitor at Wilsons Solicitors. I have therefore had the opportunity to see Wyvern College from a number of different perspectives and I hope to continue to see the school flourish over the coming years.

Dr. S Evans

I have lived in Laverstock since 1991. I am a retired GP and hospice doctor. I have three sons, who were all educated in Salisbury. I am interested in seeing Wyvern flourish as a valued and distinctive part of the secondary school provision in Salisbury. (I have 8 grandchildren who are, or in coming years, will be going through the education system here, so have a vested interest).Special responsibility in the governing body is child protection.

Chair of Governors Frances Smith Wain OBE, BA (Hons).

After graduating in French and Italian I spent 6 years teaching English as a foreign language in Italy and Germany.

In 1973 I joined the European Commission in Brussels, initially as a translator.  I then moved into administration, dealing in turn with Human Resources, European Vocational Training Policy and finally with Europe’s Humanitarian Aid policy worldwide.

Since retiring and moving to Salisbury I have spent 10 years as a Governor at Salisbury Cathedral School, and I am also a cathedral guide.  I became a Governor of Wyvern College in 2010, Joint Chair of Governors in 2011 and Chair since the beginning of this year.

My main concern is to ensure that the boys at the school enjoy the best education on offer both in terms of facilities and teaching.   I am delighted that our dynamic new head and our splendid new building together mark an important step in that direction.

Mrs M Bordass

As a retired teacher, I have a heart for young people and a lifelong interest in education, which is why I offered my services as a governor at Wyvern College. It was a privilege to be part of the panel that appointed Paul German to the Headship and to watch Wyvern go from strength to strength under his leadership. I also have a heart for the gospel and am a Trustee of the Bridge Youth Project which provides Wyvern with 2 days of lay chaplaincy. I was widowed 2 years ago after 43 years as a soldier’s wife, so know a little about service life! My family live in Eastbourne where I have two primary aged grandsons who are great fun. I helped to set up a community Day Centre some 30 years ago and still manage their finances. Other interests include opera, theatre, the arts and walking. I was persuaded to join a bowls club last year, screaming all the way that I was not old enough to play bowls! I enjoy being a part of the community in which I live and being with people.

Ian Mcclure

I have been a Parent Governor at Wyvern College since November 2013.  I applied as my son had recently started in Year 7 and I wanted to become involved in supporting the school, which plays such a valuable role in preparing him and his peers for adult life.   I am currently serving in the Armed Forces and have lived in the local area for the last 11 years.  I have been married for 18 years and have two children.
