Nothing online can ever be a substitute for seeing for yourself and visitors are warmly welcomed to book a tour and come and see us in action.
We are a happy, dynamic and successful school, nurturing students to become self-confident and accomplished adults ready for the challenges of further education and training, alongside preparation for responsible adult life.
Wyvern College is a small, friendly and successful Voluntary Aided, Church of England secondary school for boys in a wonderful location in Laverstock on the northern edge of Salisbury. We cherish and celebrate the benefits of being a small and caring school. Smaller classes have supported us to personalise learning judged to be good by Ofsted and with strong examination results, comparing favourably with other schools both locally and nationally.
The opportunity to educate other people’s children is a rare privilege that brings with it a huge responsibility to provide the best all round education that we can, as we aim to prepare young people for success in a fast changing world. At Wyvern, we take this responsibility extremely seriously. We believe strongly in the limitless potential of all our students. Each boy is valued for his own sake and encouraged to develop his talents to the full, in a community where every achievement is celebrated. Wyvern is an inclusive community where it is easy to participate from the first day, a place where each student can make his mark. Our aim is to encourage each student to be self-confident, inquiring, tolerant and positive, respecting himself and celebrating the differences of others. We pride ourselves in enabling youngsters to think for themselves, to think deeply and to think about others. By the time they leave the school, we want each student to have that true sense of their self-worth and to be a value to society. At Wyvern College, our community’s ethos is based upon the traditional values of;
Courage: We are open to new situations and experiences and have the independence of spirit to explore new ideas.
Compassion: We have a strong sense of empathy for others.
Commitment: We do what we say we are going to do.
We want everyone at Wyvern College to be happy, confident and successful in achieving their goals. We can promise you support, care, encouragement, respect and above all, a really enjoyable and rewarding school experience. Our status as a voluntary aided Church of England school is immersed into who we are and our values. Our ethos is clearly Christian in character and for that very reason we offer a fine, rounded education in a wonderful environment to boys of all faiths, or none.
Our success is your success and I hope you are keen to become part of our story after viewing our website.
