The Great Wyvern Spelling Bee competion

  A great time was had by all in the school hall on Monday 3rd April, where three houses: Longford, Rockbourne and Wilton, went head to head to win the esteemed Spelling Bee.  The atmosphere was thrilling and the competition tough, with excellent support from the crowd. Many thanks to all those who took part.  The final results were:- 1st Longford – 10 Points 2nd Rockbourne – 9 points 3rd Wilton – 7 points

England rugby international star and former Wyvern College student Mike Brown officially re-opened Wyvern College after its £10million transformation.  The Harlequins’ full back unveiled a plaque at a ceremony to mark the reopening of Wyvern College in a state of the art new building. This year’s GCSE results for Wyvern College and St Edmund’s are extremely impressive. Early indicators suggest that the headline results, including the Progress 8 scores for both schools are the best in a long time. Wyvern bucks the trend

Although some results have still to be confirmed, students and staff at Wyvern College are celebrating after an encouraging set of GCSE examination results. Of the boys educated at Wyvern in Year 11, 56% have achieved the all-important 5 A*-C grades and a hugely impressive 73% of students achieved eight GCSE qualifications including English and Maths.  Particularly strongly performing subjects included ICT (96%), Art (83%), French (73%), History (72%) and PE (75%).
