Trussell Trust – Christmas Hamper Donations

This year 7R led the way in collecting for the Trussell Trust Christmas box appeal. Students have been examining what it’s like to live in other places, locations, and time. They discovered that some people in the world are not as fortunate as themselves and decided to collect items for Christmas hampers to donate to the Trussell Trust. Catering

This term has seen the students from KS4 focus on coursework for their V. Cert portfolios. They have carried out research on a number of food groups and prepared dishes from these using individual recipes.

STEM

Year 8 took part in a bridge building challenge for the recent CAD. They had to design and make a structure to span a 400mm gap using nothing more than 100 lolly sticks and hot melt glue. Wyvern Production of MmmBeth

On Thursday evening, the boys from the Year 7 & 8 drama club put on a performance of ‘Mmmbeth’, a hilarious take on the Scottish play where everything goes wrong. The witches took over the storytelling, and King Duncan would rather open a doughnut franchise than die…… Lady Mmmbeth comes to a sticky end through overdosing on Duncan’s doughnuts, and there was some serious sword fighting with an inflatable banana. The Great Wyvern Spelling Bee competion

  A great time was had by all in the school hall on Monday 3rd April, where three houses: Longford, Rockbourne and Wilton, went head to head to win the esteemed Spelling Bee.  The atmosphere was thrilling and the competition tough, with excellent support from the crowd. Many thanks to all those who took part.  The final results were:- 1st Longford – 10 Points 2nd Rockbourne – 9 points 3rd Wilton – 7 points
